I don’t play a lot of video games, but when I do, one of my current favorites is – a multiplayer game where each player controls a circular blob, and opponents try to swallow each other up in order to become bigger. The game is fast moving with lots of unexpected twists and turns. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t come with any music. With that thought in mind, I decided to come up with my own song for that tries to capture its unpredictable nature.

Agario is set in C major and has an ABA-coda form. The A theme is a bubbly melody that gets repeated in different registers and keys about 10 times. After that, the key suddenly changes to F# major, which ushers in the slow and singing B theme. Following that, a return to C major and the A theme. A short flourishing coda concludes the piece.

Do you have a favorite video game without music, or perhaps with music that you don’t think is a good fit? If so, what kind of music would you like to accompany that game? Please share in the comments section below.
